Céret

Céret is a historic Catalan small town, has about 320 sunny days a year and provides a lively calender of musical and artistic events. Ceret is in a fantastic region for outdoor activities - half an hour from the coast, 1.5 hours from ski-ing in winter, great hiking, cycling and walking and there are endless places to explore in the region from unspoilt villages, mountains, beaches, wineries - it is also a 15 minute drive from Spain. The mountain drive at the foot of the Pyrenees along the tech river is spectacular. A well known wine growing region, Ceret is also famous for its cherries, art galleries and many festivals.Despite all this Ceret remains relatively undiscovered. There are countless markets in the region.

Céret's Saturday market (10-14.00) is a high point of the week! It is a busy market selling mostly local produce. Fresh fruit and vegetable stalls are alongside the man who makes boudins blanc and noir. The olive stall is a "must see" where you can choose from a large range of plain, marinated and dried olives. The local cheese makers sell everything from the delicious fresh cheeses to aged hard cheese cut from large wheels. The local wines are red, cheap and very drinkable. Collioure

Collioure is blessed with a romantic setting. By Mediterranean standards, this seaside village in southwest France should be overrun — it has everything. Like an ice-cream shop, Collioure offers 31 flavors of pastel houses and six petite, scooped-out, and pebbled beaches sprinkled lightly with beachgoers. This sweet scene, capped by a winking lighthouse, sits under a once-mighty castle in the shade of the Pyrenees mountains. Evenings are best here, as the sky darkens, yellow lamps reflect warm pastels and deep blues.

Aqualand St. Cyprien

There are some aqualands nearby. We recommend Aqauland St. Cyprien witch is a 25 min drive from the house.

Dali Theatre Museum

The Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, the largest surrealistic object in the world, occupies the building of the former Municipal Theatre, a 19th century construction which was destroyed at the end of the Spanish Civil War. On its ruins, Dalí decided to create his museum.
